Today's song of the day comes from the forthcoming tribute CD to the late Elliott Smith, To: Elliott From: Portland. The CD is due out Feb. 7, and all proceeds from the disc will be donated to Free Arts for Abused Children, the official charity of the Elliott Smith Foundation. I could not find a link for the CD or the record label yet, so you'll have to get off your ass and go to the store!
The CD is filled with indie artists from the Portland, OR area (Smith's hometown) like: Helio Sequence, Eric Matthews, Dolorean, Sean Croghan (ex-Crackerbash), and many more.

The Dark Stuff is an online music magazine and podcast that focuses primarily (though not exclusively) on independent artists that perform in Omaha, Nebraska and the Midwest.
