Ambulette posted the following news on its MySpace blog:
you're not even gonna believe it.
we finally have a bit of e.p.-related news to spread around to all of you excitable blog-readers and band-moms-and-dads... the e.p.'s actually gonna come out. as in, available-to-everybody, for-sale-at-the-record-shop, sell-'em-at-shows come out. we are ecstatic to let you know that come march 21st, ambulette's debut c.d. - e.p. will be out on astralwerks records and tapes... YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW. that's right: we're labelmates with air, graham coxon, beth orton, kraftwerk, black dice, and all kinds of other insanely cool musicians. dreams and the supernatural indeed. hot damn.
we'll post more details when we get them, but we can tell you for sure about the things that've already happened: we recorded the five songs last spring, right before the good life/consafos tour, in chicago with our friend chris shepard (elvis costello, wilco, smashing pumpkins, kmfdm... totally pro). maura's brother (and our strike-breaking bassist) keeley did the artwork, maura's friend susan took the cover photo, and our man in arizona named austin took the band photos (which you've maybe seen here on myspace). maybe four originals and maybe a cover, or maybe not.
or maybe i've said too much. just keep checking back; we'll post more soon, as in tour dates, maybe a photo or two, and more e.p. details when we know what's up. we hope you're as excited as we are, which might be impossible, 'cause we sure are excited...
Based on that posting, it would seem that forthcoming CD will feature different songs than the two Bella Lea (the band's former name) CDs I picked up at their shows last year. Great news.
