I Wanna Rock and Roll All Nite...

Not a ton to report today. My radio co-host is in Europe for the next couple of weeks, so I'll be doing the show on my own tonight. I've got a special one planned with lots of stuff I probably couldn't get away with playing if he was here. I had to dig hard into my record vaults to find this stuff (and disturb Miles, below, who likes to chill on top of the records). It should be a great show. I am seriously considering talking to the PD about taping the show on Sunday afternoons so I don't have to stay up all night every Sunday. It is only one night a week, though.

Before hitting the station, I'm going to try and catch as much of the Dolorean show as possible. I won't be able to actually see them, but maybe I'll get to see the sets from the openers: Matt Whipkey of Anonymous American, and Todd Grant (playing with Tim Kasher of Cursive). I haven't seen Grant in over 10 years. I've been hearing positive things about him lately. I'm going to try and stay as long as possible. The venue, Sokol Underground, is sort of on the way to the station.

Tomorrow night is the Head of Femur show at The Brothers. I have never seen or heard the band, but have been getting a lot of raves from friends. They have some connection to Omaha, so they have a lot of fans here. The Brothers will be an unusual place to see a show (next week PORN will be there, too). I'm kinda looking forward to it. Opening is The Holy Ghost, who I have played on the radio show. They are also former Omaha guys who now live in New York, I think.
